Hi Kirk,
I've been making my own fruit wine for about a year. Having "Kirk's Brew" nearby has been a great help to me! Thank you for all your help and advice. This is a great hobby and it has helped me to realize how many friends I have. (thirsty friends)

Kirk, Great website and wonderful offerings. Do you sell winemaking supplies in larger quantities? Our wine club here in Nebraska (newineclub.org) would like to see if we can buy corks etc. and get quantity discounts.
Keep up the great reading and your ever-presence at the store.

Just a comment on "have you hugged your fermenter lately?" Answer "yes." My 3 old son was gazing on an American Wheat in my fermenter and said,"Dad, its beautiful!" I agreed and together we gave the fermenter a kiss. So, I'd say my fermenter is feeling well loved!
I'm look looking forward to receiving a couple of recipe kits from Kirk's soon! (takes a little longer since I live in Japan. ;)

cheers!

My last brew was the Lincoln Lager, one of the kits Kirk himself has put together. Too say the least it is one of the best brews I've done to date. Maybe partly do to with my improving brewing skills, but I recommend it!

Hey Kirk,

I just stumbled upon your website and glad I did. I have been wanting to try making my own wine for a long time. It will be nice to be able to talk to someone close to home that knows the ins and outs. I will come by and visit when I return home in march.

Now you see David, this is where the fun really takes over. Attempting to clone someone's local beer such as the Hammerhead that your trying to do, adds a whole new dimension to what is already a blast to do. Let us know how it turns out.

Right now I have in the fermenter my first non recipe kit batch. It is not my own recipe but it is definitely out of the normal for me. I have a good friend of mine that loves this beer he use to get back home called Hammerhead so with some help from people we know we got a clone recipe and proceeded to make it. From the looks of it, it will be a darker amber color because of the 1 lb of crystal malt and have a high hop flavor do to the 4 oz’s of cascade hops we added to it and about 5.6% ABV do to the 6 lbs of light DME. If all goes well in a few months my friend will be sitting back and drinking this beer thinking about the good old days back home.

This is my Homebrew project ATM.

Cheers,
David

My aim is 20% alcohol. We'll see how well I do with that lofty goal. And there's no doubt that you had better drink this beverage sitting down, or you'll soon be sitting down in a not so kind way.
I love those cooler projects and what's even cooler is that you've made your first batch of beer all grain style. Congratulations; you are now an advanced brewer. The fun just keeps on coming.
